OK spring breakers thoughts if anyone cares
that movie was crazy . i loved it like it exceeded all my expectations of what it would be. like i knew it would be crazy and it was. a lot of people are going to hate it/think it’s dumb though. ik they will. but i loved it lol
i thought my girl selena was rly good in her role like it was perf for her so maybe it wasnt like that challenging for her but it was still pretty cool to see her.. also that scene with james franco was intenseee omfgg and her reactions seemed very real. it kinda sucked that her character was the only one that really got a background though? like vanessa and ashley were like crazy and like borderline sociopaths but their characters barely got any back story idk i wish we had gotten more but maybe there was a reason for that, idk. and rachel too was just kinda there but idk.
i thought vanessa was good too and ashley but vanessa like got rly into it i was like damn. THE BEST SCENE was with ashley/vanessa/james franco and guns. omfg. that was gr8. all the scenes with the three of them were great tbh and i liked how james’ character was actually kinda weak even tho he talked all big and the girls were like in charge
one thing that did annoy me was when they would repeat the dialogue over and over omfg like they did it 5 times it lost it’s effect after the first time. like give it a rest harmony
but yeah.. i enjoyed it and im still all pumped up
the “plot” was like non existent though and it was very surreal and obviously some parts werent very realistic
so yeah i wouldnt go see it if you want an actual plot and expect something brilliant but it’s worth it to see it imo and it’s good fun to see like it’s a good movie experience and it leaves u feeling something which is the whole point of movies right?? yeah. good times
edit bc i finally was able 2 articulate what i felt:
i lovedd the stuff with selena/james bc like. when he just kept complimenting her and saying how much he liked her? like it was so creepy and her reaction was so real like. it felt like he was going to sexually assault her im glad they didnt go there but it made sense for her to go home early likeeee. and when he was like “you look like 15” lol bc people say that about selena all the time. but her character was important bc she was like the moral center idk.. good stuff
